Fall Colors, Costumes and Candles ...
Cooler temperatures, slightly shorter days and rustling of drier leaves signal that fall is here and within a month the trees lining Main Street will be displaying their yellow and gold ornamentation. Historic Downtown Littleton's unique character (and characters) comes into full view at this time of the year as well.
Young artists from Littleton Public Schools helped create a Halloween Spirit along Main Street and beyond with their wonderfully creative window painting this year. Check out their work on the Littleton Art Council wikispace page!
The Town Hall Arts Center began its season of fantastic live theatre with The Full Monty. If you haven’t had the opportunity to see a show at this award-winning theatre, you have been missing the best in intimate performances. Check out their full season schedule which includes Beauty and the Beast, My Way and Gypsy.
Friday, November 28th is the 25th Annual Candlelight Walk and Tree Lighting Ceremony. This evening is Littleton’s official welcome to the Holiday Season, with thousands of glowing candles, Christmas carols, and warm cider. The Jolly ol’ Elf himself leads the parade down Main Street as the trees are lit with millions of sparkling lights. This is a magical evening and a yearly tradition for generations of Littleton families and always takes place the Friday after Thanksgiving. Merchants will keep their doors open late and many will offer tasty holiday snacks and refreshments.
December 6th is the date for the 3rd Annual Old Town Holiday Shopping Evening. Over 35 downtown merchants will be open late for those of you wanting an early start to your Holiday shopping. Offering special sales, contests, refreshments and cheer, the merchants are ready to help make your shopping experience in Historic Downtown LIttleton a memorable one.
The warmth of the Holiday lighting along Main Street is matched only by the warmth of the shops and businesses in Historic Downtown Littleton who are ready to greet you with a smile and true interest in you and your needs. Come on down and feel the warmth that comes from people who care about who you are and why you are here.
